Pricing

Pricing is based on the square feet of the home.
The cost for a Heat Load Calc/Manual JDS is .10 cents per square foot with a minimum price of $350.00.
The cost for a
Rescheck is $75-$100, if we do the Heat Load Calc (based on square footage).

We do our best to ensure the heat load calc will pass the city inspection on the first submission, but on the off chance it does not, we will revise the heat load calc until it passes the city inspection, at no additional cost.

What Is a Heat Load Calc / Manual JDS / J Load Calculator?

Manual J - Calculates heating and cooling loads.  Calculations are based on insulation levels, home orientation, window U-values, square footage of rooms, & ceiling height.

Manual S (Sizing) - Determines HVAC equipment sizes to meet load requirements.

​Manual D - Design the duct work for all rooms.

How Long Does a Heat Load Calc Take to Complete?

Times vary on home size and number of systems to be installed. Our goal is to complete your heat load calc within 5 business days.

Do You Provide Heat Load Calcs for New Homes and Remodels?

Yes! House Plans are required for new homes and remodels in order to prepare the heat load calc and/or Rescheck. Home Insulation values are also required. If you have the Rescheck, they are listed on the that report or sometimes they are found on the plans. If you do not have the ResCheck or the plans do not list insulation values, additional information will need to be provided to us as listed below:
1. Above grade wall (framed wall), insulation value R-value.
2. Below grade wall insulation (basement), R-value.
3. Attic insulation R-value.
4. Windows U-value.
5. Floor insulation for floors between upper level and garage, floors over open space, or slab on grade floors.
6. Door insulation (opt.).

The information provided to AHLC will only be used for the completion of the report and will not be shared with anyone, other than the municipality, unless authorized to do so by the Client.
